DJ Corchin (core-chin) (he/him) writes and draws books. Fun books. Thought-provoking books. Books that make you laugh, wonder, and occasionally question whether you should adopt a pet unicorn. (Spoiler: You shouldn’t.) His multiple, award-winning works—like A Thousand No’s, Do You Speak Fish?, If You Find a Unicorn It’s Not Yours to Keep, and The I Feel… Children’s Series—help kids (and adults!) navigate the complex and wonderful world of emotions, communication, and working together. Before diving into author life, DJ was a high school band director after his career took a thrilling left turn onto a Broadway stage as a featured performer in the Tony and Emmy award-winning show, BLAST! There he entertained thousands each night playing the trombone… while unicycling. (Yup, it’s true.) His books have been seen on NBC, ABC, CBS, and WGN television shows and are celebrated by educators, early childhood professionals, therapists, and more. DJ’s author visits are known for being engaging, fun, and thought-provoking. He lives with his family in Oak Park, IL just outside Chicago.
