DJ Corchin is the author of A Thousand NO’s and Do You Speak Fish?  He also has written or illustrated more than two dozen books including The I Feel... Children’s SeriesThe Band Nerds Book Series, and If You Find A Unicorn, It Is Not Yours To Keep.

DJ Corchin is an author and/or illustrator of many children's books.  A Thousand NO’s illustrated by Dan Dougherty launched to wonderful reviews, became a Barnes & Noble Bestseller, and won the Eric Hoffer Award for Best Children’s Book. Additional award-winning titles include Do You Speak Fish?, The I Feel... Children’s SeriesThe Band Nerds Book Series, and If You Find A Unicorn, It Is Not Yours To Keep.  DJ and his books have been featured on various networks including NBC, ABC, WGN and more! He writes and draws from his home in Oak Park, IL where he lives with family. 

Long Bio

DJ Corchin is a celebrated author and illustrator from Oak Park, IL. His unique career path took a thrilling turn when he joined the Tony and Emmy Award-winning Broadway show "BLAST," as a featured performer showcasing his musical talent on multiple instruments, even playing the trombone while riding a unicycle!

His interactions with young audiences during the show's educational promotion, his experiences as a high school band director, and an encounter with writer/producer, John Hughes inspired him to begin a writing career as a children’s author helping to provide the words to start conversations about meaningful topics.

His work caught the attention of Sourcebooks, leading to the acquisition of his entire library in 2019—a move highlighted in Publishers Weekly. His first picture book with Sourcebooks, "A Thousand NO’s," illustrated by Dan Dougherty, received excellent reviews and won the Eric Hoffer Award for Best Children's Book. Since then he’spublished many more award-winning titles with more to come.

DJ and his books have been featured on various networks including NBC, ABC, WGN, and more! His books are known for their humor and ability to spark meaningful conversations about communication, kindness, and social-emotional awareness, making them perfect for engaging both children and adults in today’s complex world.
